Celebrating Human Movement

imove celebrates human movement in all its forms, whether expressive, competitive or simply for the joy of experiencing the world by moving through it.

Our mission is to transform the relationship between people and their moving bodies. We’ve been inspired by the Olympics to put together an exciting programme of activities across Yorkshire which will ask you how you feel in your body and challenge you to feel differently about yourself.

want to feel differently?

come see us at www.imoveand.com

Got an idea that will help us change things? then read on...

If you have an idea for a project that will answer our mission, we want to hear from you. You can tell us about your idea at a 'First Pitch' session, which is an informal talk with two of our producers.

We particularly want projects that will help us do one of the following:

*Animate public places - taking ideas where they are not expected
*Take performance on the move - taking our ideas to as many people as
  we can

*Think about the body, landscape and heritage - how our body relates to
our environment and how it's shaped our world

If you want to book a First Pitch then email imove@artscouncil.org.uk. We're seeing First Pitches regularly, and we expect to carry on seeing them until next spring.

imove is Yorkshire's signature cultural programme, funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charilty set up to create a cultural legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Yorkshire Forward and Arts Council England are also supporting the programme.
